Core Educator Appreciation Board!

Dr. Moore is the truest homie at UUSOM. She is the perfect balance of knowledgable, dedicated teacher, and an empathetic human. She cares so much about her students and their success and I feel so lucky to know her. She has made my UUSOM experience so meaningful, and she really made me feel seen during first year when I felt lost. She totally rocks and I am so grateful for her!

Shoutout to Drs. Formosa and Moser for being willing to explain Hemoglobin-O2 binding curves approximately 48 times to me, and for their willingness to share my excitement about MCC from 7:50-8am on an optional attendance day when my classmates (Sofia and Fadi) were not the most enthusiastic morning people.

@Tim Formosa @karen.moser

Dr. Amy Cowan is inspiring. Her lecture on racism & white identity was the best discourse on the topic I've heard from anyone. She is clearly committed to introspection, self-improvement, and education. She has a talent for talking about difficuly subjects with eloquence, balance, and kindness.

Thank you for your contributions to medical education!

@Amy.Cowan

I think Dr. Moore has a time machine because I have no idea how else she does so much in a day. Somehow she manages to attend just about every MS1 zoom session, holds great office hour sessions, sends daily updates to keep the MS1 class on track (and calm our nerves), and works tirelessly to keep foundations of medicine moving forward. She is a fantastic core educator not to mention The Histology Wizard herself. Thank you Dr. Moore for being everywhere and doing it all.

This^ is Dr. Stern y'all. The kids in the car are what happens when students pass her in the hospital :) I am so grateful to have her as my CMC facilitator because she always pushes us to do better than we think we can. She goes above and beyond to make sure we have real-life examples of how to do things properly. She also demonstrates how to continue taking care of ourselves through stressful times, making sure that we still give energy to things outside of medicine. She is an amazing role model, teacher, and mentor, all while taking care of her complex patients and being a superhero mom. Thank you Dr. Stern!

P.S. I picked Elastigirl because she doesn't have any joints ;)

Shout out to Dr. Barrell who is the greatest CMC preceptor I could ask for. She is kind, compassionate, honest, and pushes me to be the best I can be. She is my rock and my coach. Knowing she believes in me allows me to perserver through the challenges of school. I cannot say enough good things about her. Thank you!

Dr. Morton is a dedicated educator and an outstanding person. Not only is Dr. Morton state of the art when it comes to teaching complicated subjects simply and clearly, but he is also kind and down to earth. I am impressed with his consideration for every student. He makes every student feel like they have asked an astute question and seems to genuinely appreciate every person. Students feel that from him and love him for it. What at amazing educator and what an amazing person!

@David.Morton

Shoutout to Dr. Morton, who spends TONS of time making great videos for FOM, Anatomy and Physiology (does he ever sleep?), as well as interactive powerpoint reviews, etc. Absolutely incredible educator and an educational role model. SHWIING!
